Our winter holiday - Ohakune

We're all going to the snowy with Zoe, the snowy with Zoe, the snowy with Zoe, we're all going to the snowy with Zoe and we're going to see the big carrot... That's what Jack sang on the way down to Ohakune last week! Thankfully, he fell asleep for part of the trip down (bizarrely, for an almost 3 yr old, at 9.30am!!)

We had a great week away in Taupo and Ohakune. Lucy was happy just to sit in the snow but I had great action fun with Daddy - whizzing down the slopes on a plastic bag (video to be posted soon), skiing (in Daddy's arms) and going up the slopes on the magic carpet, the pommer and the chair lift - and looking at the "little little people" below.

One morning we went to the army museum - our favourite part was the helicopter ride!

That afternoon, I got all geared up to hit the slopes with Daddy while Lucy stripped down and enjoyed playing in our holiday house which was cosy warm thanks to the very efficient fireplace.

Bath time

Lucy loves bath time. As soon as the taps are turned on she rushes in and I often finding her staring into the empty bath in the middle of the day.

She also enjoys a shower with Jack...

...and, as I discovered when all was quiet last week, she enjoys playing in the shower in the middle of the day too...

Shoulder rides

Lucy enjoys shoulder rides with Daddy as much as Jack does!

Friends

Jack and Lucy had fun with new friends a couple of weeks ago. Bryn and Harry visited us all the way from Moscow - was great to spend time with you and your Mum and Dad.

And Lucy and Lily had a splashing time in the bath...

Lucy's learning

Lucy's learning how to walk behind a stool...

She's also learning that she shouldn't try to walk and eat at the same time...

There's a new Bubble Monster in town...

Washing Up

I love washing the dishes - and myself!

Lucy's getting adventurous

The tunnel at playgroup is good fun - especially with mummy or jack playing peekaboo at the other end. And my balance isn't so good yet but watch out jack, I'll be wanting to ride your bike shortly.

Seconds?

I think Mum needs to make Lucy's dinner bigger. Lucy often finishes dinner before me and then comes begging to me for more...

Growing Up

Mum says I am growing up fast - I can now drink from my sipper cup all by myself.

A visit from Connie

Connie came to stay with us for a few days and we had loads of fun. We had fun at Kelly Tarltons and reading books but my favourite time was building towers with Connie in the playroom - especially with the "blackblocks". Lucy enjoyed lots of cuddles. One day the weather was so nice we even managed a picnic at the park - although as you'll see from the photos, some of the other days were pretty windy and grey - not that that stopped us from heading down to the beach! Thanks for visiting us Connie!

Bathtime and the Bubble Monsters

Jack and Lucy both love bathtime. Jack loves making "big words" - you can imagine the fun we have pronouncing them! Lucy is happy to sit and watch - and chew on the bath toys.

Jack loves being a Bubble Monster with Daddy!
