A weekend in Taupo

Daddy had a fishing weekend (yes again!) in Turangi and so Mummy, Lucy and I decided to head to Taupo for the weekend. The car trip down was very peaceful...

While Daddy was busy catching trout, Nana took me and Lucy to Old MacDonalds Farm. There were lots of animals to feed, including a day old foal and lots of little piglets and there was even a Thomas train to play in. Lucy and I also got to hold a bunny rabbit.

The highlight for me was that Daddy came back a day early and then took me for a surprise trip to the snow. There was no magic carpet and no pommers but I went on a T bar and a chairlift right to the top of the mountain and tasted fresh snow.

And we took a carrot and made a snowman - or was it a snow rabbit Daddy?

Swinging

Lucy swinging....

and Jack swinging - thanks to Daddy, Jack always wants to touch the wall or the shade sail when he swings...

Happy Birthday Lucy!

I had a lovely first birthday. My day started with a sweet happy birthday song from Jack and then Jack gave me 2 rubber duckies for the bath - at least I think they were my birthday present even though Jack plays with them in the bath more than I do (thank goodness there are 2 Mum thinks!).

I got lots of lovely presents, including, surprise surprise, dolls! I must admit I was more interested in the shiny paper and the ribbons than the contents!!

Mum made teddy bear and pig cupcakes for me and my friends. It took me a while to work out what I was meant to do with it (strange really given that I usually put anything and everything straight into my mouth!) but once I started there was no stopping me!

The best part of my day was when daddy came home early for work and we all went down to the playground for some fun. The day was topped off nicely with a bath before bed.

Smoothie time

Summer is trying to arrive and so it is smoothie time again. Lucy had her first berry smoothie last week and it appears she enjoys it on her face more than in her tummy!

Lucy learns to slide

More birthday fun

We had a really fun group "turning 3" birthday party at the plunket rooms. Lucy loved the food and I had lots of fun on the slide - mostly climbing up it! Lucy learnt to climb the steps, turn around on the platform and go down the slide backwards - video to come shortly.

Uncle Stephen

Uncle Stephen visited us and, as you can see, he really enjoyed watching my Thomas dvd with me...

Running with Kate

Going to the zoo with Kate is not a leisurely stroll...

Fun on the deck

I still love swinging - although these days I want to swing so high that my feet touch the house or the shade sail, or else I want wibbly wobbly swinging where I swing round and round rather than up and down. Lucy's current favourite is the sandpit - she especially enjoys eating the sand and the leaves.

Sharing

Lucy has learnt to drink through a straw and, of course, she wanted to use my cup rather than hers. That was ok with me though as I got to try out her fancy drink bottle.

I'm THREE!

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday to MEEEEE, happy birthday to me! I like being 3. Daddy made me a really cool garage to park my cars in - and it even has (well, had, now as Lucy ate it!) a fancy car wash. And check out my cool new singlet - Mum tells me it is for wearing under a top but I have other ideas...

Granddad, Connie, Graham, Kendall and my friends came over to my house to help me eat the train (what else?!) cake that Mum made for my birthday. I spent most of the day with my trains (again, what else?!)

ps Aunty Lisa, only 24 months months until school now!

Fireman Jack

My mate Harry had his third birthday a little while ago and he had a party at the fire station - of course I had to wear my fireman hat! There weren't any call outs and so I didn't get to help fight fires but I did get to go for a ride on a fire truck - that was cool!
