Summer holidays at Pukehina

After Christmas in Hamilton we headed to Pukehina for a few weeks. The weather was superb and the freezing cold water didn't stop Jack in the slightest! Lucy was more tentative like her Mum! The best part of the holiday was, of course, having the constant company of Nana and Grandad and also spending time with Nicholas, Aunty Paula and Uncle Brendhan...and on that note, we are all very excited that you are on your way home and we look forward to lots more fun together. Now we just need to work on Aunty Lisa and Uncle Justin and the Japanese contingency....

Anyhow, back to summer. We had so much fun that the best way to show you is just to add the photos, so here goes...

Of course there was plenty of Nana's ice-cream to be eaten...

Jack loved playing in the whops, mids, lits and hats (waves that knocked his hat off!)...

and he tried body surfing with Grandad..

and boogie boarding (and wiping out) with Daddy.

The boys loved the waterguns...

and Lucy enoyed bubbles with Nana,

and was happy sunning (not very 2010 I know!)...

Bathtime was fun for all...and entertaining too!

There was lots of sand fun - drawing trains (of course for Jack) and monkey, lions and rabbits (for Lucy),playing with seaweed and jellyfish, making train tracks, turning J&L into a mermaid and making jack a racing car.

mmmm making pizza with Nana...

and pikelets for morning tea...

Picking peas with Grandad...

Playing snakes and ladders with Grandad...

Storytime with Grandad...

and then trying to tire Grandad out with wheelbarrow rides...

The slippery slide was a huge hit!

Nicholas and Lucy had fun with the mower - Nicholas showing Lucy how to start it and then helping push..

There were buzzy bees to find...

books to be read...

and unusual sleeping places to be discovered...

Relaxing was always good..

I'm a little teapot...

Nana made a special dress for Lucy and her dolly - cute huh!

A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY!!!

Christmas in Hamilton

We stayed with Connie and Graham on Christmas Eve. Thankfully Connie had stocked the cupboard well and we left Santa some chocolate, the reindeers a carrot and the kiwis some water!

Our plan worked! Santa left us a lovely note....

and neat presents in our stockings.

I got Bill which was cool but, surprisingly, I was even more excited with the "rub-a-dub colour your tub". More than anything it is such a fun thing to say!

Lucy loved Daddy reading Bambi to her.

I also had great fun being Santa's helper...

Christmas Day was really hot but thankfully Connie and Graham had filled their pool and we had fun cooling off in that. Oh and the ice-blocks helped too - thanks Connie!

the "cutsie" hairstyles have started...
