Summer!

Well, summer has been great so far. I've been enjoying sleeping with no clothes on, but I still haven't got used to sleeping without my wrap, which is good for mum & dad cos they just wrap me up and I know it's sleep time (that's the theory anyway!). My room upstairs sits around 28 C which is too hot for me so I've been sleeping on my own downstairs at night time because it's a bit cooler, but I'll be upstairs in my room again soon as dad just bought an air-conditioner for me.

I still love sleeping. Generally I have my last feed from my bottle at about 8:30 and sleep through until about 6:30am, plus I'm sleeping for 4-5 hours during the day too, although I do have the odd run of days when I just can't get to sleep so end up a bit tired by the evening!

I'm out of the baby bath now and into the big bath ... well sort of ... Mum got me a big inflatable duck that I bath inside cause the big bath is still a bit big to use every day. I have the odd shower too which is nice for a change.

I'm getting a good collection of toys together - yesterday I got a mobile for my cot, so that will be good to use once I'm back upstairs.

I quite like the hammock outside. Sometimes I'm allowed in it on my own. I like swinging backwards and forwards in it.

I'm still having a few problems with holding all my milk down after a feed, but I'm putting on plenty of weight and mum and dad have got lots of muslins to catch the spills with - though I do evade them quite often.

Nana & grandad looked after me for a night while mum & dad were at a wedding. I was on my best behaviour cause I want them to come back (nana & grandad that is).

Everyone still seems to like my smiles, so I've kept them up. I give extra long chuckly ones whenever someone gives me a raspberry on my tummy or blows on my face!

That's all for now - don't forget to check out my videos from the early days!

A few vids...

Here are a few short videos of me taken over the last few months. There's no sound, but generally I wasn't making sounds anyway ... except for when I had the hiccups at 1 day old, but you can imagine that sound! The first time you play these, they may stutter a bit, but once they're all buffered onto your computer they play nice and smoothly when you hit the replay button.

I think I'm right footed

Miles of Smiles!

Though I'm not quite smiling on demand for Mum & Dad, I am giving them a taste of what's in store for them with lots of happy outbursts. I also let them have a couple of decent nights sleep by sleeping through to 5am, but, just so they don't get too comfortable with the idea, I woke for my usual 3.30am feed last night. I had a great few days in Taupo with Nana and Grandad, and the stop-offs in Hamilton to see Connie and Graham were also fun. Mum keeps telling me that I am going to meet Aunty Pee and Uncle Brendhan shortly - not sure who they are but am looking forward to meeting them! Happy Christmas everyone.

8 weeks on...

Well, I'm 8 weeks old today and all I can say is ... I love it out here! I've given mum & dad a few tasters of a smile, just to keep them wrapped around my little finger of course. I'm also enjoying kicking and punching the air under my activity gym - plus the music is pretty cool. I'm starting to grow into my cot - though at 56cm, I've still got a way to go. I am over the 5 kilo mark now though and have finally outgrown one of my newborn outfits - not to mention those pathetically small newborn nappies!

As always, here are a few shots of what I've been up to. Mostly just hanging out with mum & dad at home - but I quite like that.

I still enjoy a good read ... even if it is the same book as always

Sometimes, instead of a bath, I have a shower with dad

Sucking my thumb ... almost

I'm starting to get the hang of this napping on the couch thing, though dads got a few good years on me...
