Lake Waikaremoana

After a long drive, including 2 hours of pot-holed dirt, we arrived at Lou's batch in Onepoto, Lake Waikaremoana. The kids were so excited about the bunks!

We went on lots of walks including: Lake Kaitawa and Fairy Springs - There had been lots of rain before we arrived and some of us required assistance over part of the track!

Onepoto caves -

Hinerau walk with three waterfalls and, more excitedly, weta houses for us to open and look in to -

and the Lake Waikareiti Track. The beautiful view at the top was worth the 300m incline and we were lucky enough to be able to borrow a dinghy for a little row!
